MEDIA ADVISORY: Company manufactures wearable fuel cells

A California-based manufacturer of wearable fuel cells for a variety of consumer and military uses is coming to Starkville and will work with Mississippi State researchers to refine its product.

University and company officials will announce details of this manufacturing and research partnership at noon Thursday [Dec. 7] in the lobby of MSU's Institute for Clean Energy Technology, or ICET ("ice tea"). News coverage is invited.

The institute, formerly known as DIAL, is located on the western side of the Thad Cochran Research, Technology and Economic Development Park, just north of and across Highway 182 from the main Starkville campus.

Program participants will include:

--Colin Scanes, MSU vice president for research and economic development;

--Tom Covington, the company's chief executive officer;

--Becky Thompson, Mississippi Development Authority;

--Starkville Mayor Dan Camp; and

--David Thornell, president and CEO of the Greater Starkville Development Partnership
