'Twas the day before Valentine's, and all through the church . . .

University Relations News Bureau (662) 325-3442 Contact: Sammy McDavid January 31, 2007

STARKVILLE, Miss.--"We Speak Love" will be the theme of a Feb. 13 Valentine's concert by the Starkville/Mississippi State University Symphony Chorus.

The free performance begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Starkville First United Methodist Church sanctuary. Immediately following, a reception featuring chocolate concoctions--sponsored by the chorus and also open to all--will be held in the downstairs fellowship hall.

The musical program will include selections that describe different love settings in poetry and verse, as well as in traditional Latin proverbs and books of the Bible.

Ted Beverly, FUMC music director, will lead the music. Wendy Payton, MSU music department faculty member and Starkville First Presbyterian Church organist, will provide accompaniment.

The church at 200 West Lampkin St. is located just off the downtown area and adjacent to the Starkville Electric Department.

For additional information, telephone Beverly at 662-323-5722.
