In ceremonies Thursday night [Oct. 23], freshman Sara Beth James of Madison (second from right) was chosen Miss Mississippi State University 2009. The communication/journalism major will represent the institution next summer at the Miss Mississippi Scholarship Pageant in Vicksburg. Runners-up in the 15-contestant campus pageant included (from left) Danielle Smith of Meridian, second; Robyn A. Ford of Brandon, first; and Fenly Akers of Vicksburg, third.
