An equipment donation earlier this week by Mississippi State is helping the Oktibbeha Sheriff's Department expand its first-aid and life-saving capabilities. University President Mark Keenum (r) presented five Physio Control Lifepak 500 Automated External Defibrillators to county Emergency Management Director Jim Britt (c) and Deputy Jimmy Vaughan. To be placed in OCSD vehicles, the life-saving devices, in conjunction with the county 911 dispatch system, will enable emergency personnel to greatly improve responses to cardiac emergencies.
