STARKVILLE, Miss.--A two-month exhibition of photographs capturing the panorama of Mississippi State game-day athletics debuts Friday [Sept. 4] in the university's Colvard Student Union.

"Sidelines: Through University Photographers' Eyes," a collection of more than 60 large and small images, is the work of Kristen Hines Baker, Megan Bean and Russ Houston, award-winning staff members in the institution's University Relations Office.

An opening reception takes place 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday in the union building's second-floor art gallery.

Continuing through Oct. 31, the exhibition features game-action scenes and a variety of accompanying images illustrating the color and excitement of Southeastern Conference competition during the 2008-09 school year.

Baker, Bean and Houston have more than 30 years of combined professional experience. Baker is a graduate of the University of Florida; Bean, the University of California, Santa Barbara and Duke University Law School; and Houston, MSU.
