STARKVILLE, Miss.--Mississippi State's Bagley College of Engineering and its Industrial Outreach Service are joining with the U.S. Energy Department to offer a pair of specialized fall workshops at the university.
For persons needing to expand their knowledge of industrial compressed air systems, an advanced-level management seminar will be held Oct. 5 and 6. The registration fee is $175.
Instruction will cover required data and tools necessary to accurately measure and assess the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of compressed air systems.
A second workshop taking place Dec. 15-18 is designed for individuals desiring to become a DOE AIRmaster+ qualified specialist.
The qualification workshop, whose registration fee is $400, will deal with software methodologies and techniques for field data collection, as well as demonstrations on data entry and interpretation.
Both the two-day October and three-and-a-half day December events will take place at MSU's Franklin Center for Furniture Manufacturing and Management, which is located on the western edge of campus at the intersection of Blackjack Road and Locksley Way.
Co-sponsors for the workshops include the Southeast Clean Energy Application and North Carolina Solar centers, along with the Compressed Air Challenge, a voluntary collaboration of industrial users; manufacturers, distributors and their associations; consultants; state research and development agencies; energy efficiency organizations; and utilities.
