Sophomore Fenly Akers of Vicksburg is the new Miss Mississippi State University. A communication/broadcasting and public relations major, the daughter of Tom and Lynda Akers was among 15 women vying Thursday night [Nov. 19] to represent MSU in the 2010 Miss Mississippi Pageant, which takes place each summer in her hometown. Held in Lee Hall's Bettersworth Auditorium, this year's campus competition drew six freshmen, five sophomores and four juniors.
