STARKVILLE, Miss.--A well-known Georgia sociology teacher and researcher dubbed "Dr. Positive" by his students speaks Tuesday [Nov. 15] at Mississippi State.
"Flourishing in Life: Some Things Get Better with Age" will be the topic of a presentation by associate professor Corey Keyes of Atlanta's Emory University.
The 4 p.m. public program takes place in the Colvard Student Union's Foster Ballroom. A reception follows in the same location.
A University of Wisconsin doctoral graduate, Keyes is considered a founder of the positive psychology movement. He has spoken around the world on happiness and positive mental health across the human life span.
The program and Keyes' campus visit are organized by Carolyn Adams-Price, associate professor of psychology and veteran MSU faculty member.
In addition to the psychology department, the program is made possible by the Office of the Provost, College of Arts and Sciences, Shackouls Honors College, sociology department, and Maroon Edition freshman reading program, as well as the campus-based National Strategic Planning and Analysis Research Center.
