The 21st Mississippi State University Central Mississippi Extravaganza takes place next week at the Mississippi Trade Mart Building in Jackson.
Drawing primarily from Hinds, Madison and Rankin counties, the summer event is sponsored by the MSU Alumni Association's Central Mississippi Chapter for graduates, students, prospective students, and friends of the 120-year-old Starkville institution.
Admission is free for Mississippi State students, prospective students and school-age children.
Tickets for all others are $5 each and may be purchased at the door or in advance from any board member of the Central Mississippi Alumni Chapter.
Doors open at 6 p.m., with the program scheduled to begin at 7. Featured guests will include President Malcolm Portera, Director of Athletics Larry Templeton, Head Football Coach Jackie Sherrill, and Head Basketball Coach Rick Stansbury, as well as several other university administrators and athletic and academic representatives.
University merchandise will be available for sale during the evening.
