Mississippi State engineer named journal associate editor

A Mississippi State University civil engineering professor is the new associate editor of the Journal of Profession Issues in Engineering Education and Practice.

Dennis Truax, a Hearin-Hess Professor in the College of Engineering, will review and prepare articles submitted by engineers and professionals in related areas.

The quarterly magazine is a joint publication of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the National Society of Professional Engineers. The former, which has a membership of 104,000, has headquarters in New York City; the latter, a membership of 54,000 with offices in Alexandria, Va.

A member of the faculty since 1977, Truax holds master's and doctoral degrees from Mississippi State and a bachelor's from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

In 1995, he was named the most outstanding member of ASME's Mississippi Section.
