The Mississippi State University Alumni Association's 22nd annual Central Mississippi Extravaganza takes place this month in Jackson.
Drawing primarily from graduates and other supporters living in Hinds, Madison and Rankin counties, the traditional midsummer evening program will be held on the 22nd at the Mississippi Coliseum.
The alumni association's sponsoring Central Mississippi Chapter is providing free admission for enrolled MSU students and prospective students of all ages. The $7 tickets for all others may be purchased at the door or in advance from any chapter board member.
Doors open at 5:30; the program begins at 7. Featured guests include President Malcolm Portera and athletic director Larry Templeton, along with head coaches Sharon Fanning of women's basketball, Jackie Sherrill of football, Rick Stansbury of men's basketball, and other academic and athletic administrators.
Official merchandise of the 121-year-old Starkville institution will be available for sale throughout the evening.
