BOYS STATE — Mississippi State University President Mark E. Keenum welcomed some 384 delegates from across the state Sunday to the 2013 Mississippi American Legion Boys State program. Earlier this year, MSU was selected as the 2013-15 host campus for the Boys State program. Sponsored by the American Legion, Boys State is the nation's premier program for teaching how government works while developing leadership skills and an appreciation for the rights and responsibilities of citizenship. Boys State Director Neal Boone, right, and Boys State Chairman Donald Cabrol, left, of the American Legion joined Keenum in MSU historic Lee Hall for opening ceremonies. The program will continue through Saturday, June 1.
