About this event
Mississippi State University's Wood Magic Science Fair will host approximately 4,000 children, teachers and visitors from Mississippi. Children visit 12 stations and discover how wood products shape our everyday lives. Students visit a sawmill station and see logs cut into lumber, as well as stations for plywood, termites, chemistry, furniture, and others. Wildlife experts teach children about white-tailed deer and other wildlife that inhabit Mississippi forests. Bubbling bazookas is a fun and interactive event that teaches children about wood properties. Students also learn about everyday uses of wood, papermaking, chemistry and more.
