October 19, 2017
6:00 pm to 8:00 pm

About this event

With support from the Mississippi Humanities Council through the Mississippi Development Authority, Mississippi State University is hosting a "Myth-issippi: How Art Makes Place" talk by MSU W.L. Giles Distinguished Professors Brent Funderburk and Richard Brown. Following the talk, Crawlin' Caleb's Blues Revue will give a live blues performance featuring Brown on harmonica. Light refreshments will be served. The backdrop for the event will be the Colvard Student Union Dawg House's new wall mural "Black Prairie, Mississippi, World." Highlighting legendary blues music and musicians from Mississippi, the mural was created by MSU art students Shawna Williams and Randi Watson. Williams also is a music major.
