Mississippi State University is hosting its fifth annual online giving event during the 140th anniversary of its founding as a land-grant institution. Known as Hail State Giving Days, the 48-hour philanthropy event will revolve around the university’s official birthday, Feb. 28, 2018, and extend through March 1, 2018. Since the Hail State Giving Days program’s start, there has been a steady growth in both dollars raised and donor participants each year. MSU hopes to continue the trend in 2018 as all gifts again will count toward the university's ongoing Infinite Impact capital campaign. The goal for Hail State Giving Days 2018 is 1,000 donors as MSU aims to paint the nation’s map Bulldog maroon by securing at least one donor from all 50 states. During the 2017 event, $653,195 was raised from 1,319 donors in 42 states.
