About this event

During this workshop, Steven Goodman, vice-chair of the Methodology Committee of the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute, will discuss partnerships between universities, journals and federal agencies that can help improve the way researchers conduct, report and disseminate their finds to ensure integrity in research. In addition to being PCORI vice-chair, Goodman serves as scientific advisor for the national Blue Cross-Blue Shield Technology Assessment Program. Since 1987, he also has been a senior statistical editor of Annals of Internal Medicine. He has a strong interest in developing curricula and new models for teaching the foundations of good scientific practice, from question development to proper study design, conduct, analysis and inference.
