About this event

Author Paul Canonici will discuss his book "The Delta Italians: Their Pursuit of 'The Better Life' And Their Struggle Against Mosquitoes, Floods and Prejudice." The book is a compilation of stories and experiences of early Italian settlers of the Arkansas and Mississippi Delta plantations. Canonici is a retired Catholic priest and one of the few remaining first American generation children born from Italian families who migrated to the Delta region. A book signing sponsored by the MSU Barnes and Noble Bookstore follows his presentation, which is sponsored by MSU's Department of Classical and Modern Languages and Literatures, Department of History and Department of Sociology.
