Tips for Presenting Scientific Images with Integrity

September 13, 2018
3:00 pm to 4:00 pm

About this event

Did you know that 67 percent of the Office of Research Integrity’s research misconduct cases involved image manipulation? Undocumented image manipulations can lead to accusations of research misconduct. Images should clearly and correctly represent research results. Minor image processing may be acceptable, but there is a fine line between enhancing an image and distorting it. This seminar will provide tips, guidelines, common mistakes and examples to increase understanding of what is appropriate in image processing. Responsible Conduct of Research credit will be given for attendance. Presenters will be Kacey Strickland, director of MSU's Office of Research Compliance, and Stephanie Agnew, instructional technology specialist with MSU Libraries. Attendance to both workshops is not required. Two dates are offered due to the size of the class. Click the link below to register for free.
