Black History Month Film Screening: 'The Hate U Give'

In celebration of Black History Month, Mississippi State's Holmes Cultural Diversity Center is sponsoring a film screening of "The Hate U Give" in Bill R. Foster Ballroom on Colvard Student Union’s second floor. Based on a true story, "The Hate U Give" focuses on 16-year-old Starr Carter. Residing in a poor, black neighborhood and attending a mostly white prep school, Carter witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood friend by a policeman and learns to use her voice in standing up for what's right.
