EPSCoR Funding: What Is It?

September 11, 2019
2:00 pm to 3:30 pm

About this event

This seminar is designed for those who are unfamiliar with the Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) and would like to learn more about how to take advantage of this program. EPSCoR is designed to fulfill the National Science Foundation's mandate to promote scientific progress nationwide and is directed at those jurisdictions (states) that have historically received lesser amounts of NSF Research and Development funding (0.75% or less of total NSF research funds). Additional federal agencies with EPSCoR programs that follow the NSF EPSCoR eligibility criteria (e.g., U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Department of Energy, National Aeronautics and Space Administration and U.S. Department of Agriculture) will be discussed during this seminar, along with different tracks, agencies and cycles of EPSCoR funding opportunities. Presenters are Katie Echols, director of research analysis and support, and Teresa Gammill, assistant vice president for research, both of Mississippi State's Office of Research and Economic Development.
