Lecture and Luncheon: 'Helping Students Regulate Their Learning'

Mississippi State's Center for Teaching and Learning is hosting a lecture and luncheon featuring scientist and educator Daniel Willingham. Other event co-sponsors are the College of Education, the Department of Psychology and Kappa Delta Pi

Lunch will begin service at 11:30 a.m., and the lecture will begin at noon.

Willingham has researched and written extensively on how cognitive psychology is applied to educational issues. He is currently professor of psychology at the University of Virginia, where he has taught since 1992. He writes the "Ask the Cognitive Scientist" column for American Educator magazine, and is the author of "Why Don't Students Like School?", "When Can You Trust the Experts?", "Raising Kids Who Read," and "The Reading Mind." His writing on education has appeared in 16 languages.
