About this event

Technology threatens privacy. Government bureaucrats invent "facts." Truth becomes elusive. Does that describe today's news or George Orwell's '1984'? Or both? The ever-innovative Aquila Theatre presents a bold, highly physical staging for this classic tale of political repression versus personal freedom. Michael Gene Sullivan adapted the 1940s novel for the stage. An energetic British-American cast brings it to blazing life. Technology has given Big Brother powerful ways to manipulate. Can the human spirit fight back? Is there more than one set of facts, more than one truth? Aquila turns those questions into a restless, bracing and thrilling evening of theater.
