'Gender Dynamics in Small-Scale Fisheries and Aquaculture'

Steven Cole, a senior scientist from the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), is visiting Mississippi State to present research on gender equity in global aquaculture and fishery industries.

Cole will be hosted by the university's Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Fish (Fish Innovation Lab) and the Social Science Research Center (SSRC) for his presentation titled “Gender Dynamics in Small-Scale Fisheries and Aquaculture."

Cole will discuss the increase in gender research and the knowledge gaps that remain. Additionally, he will examine how filling these gaps is an important means to enhancing food, nutrition and economic security of people in low-income settings.
