Export Control Contract Language, Negotiations and When to Contact the Office of Research Compliance and Security

As export control clauses increasingly find their way into both funded and unfunded agreements, even Non Disclosure Agreements (NDA) and Material Transfer Agreements (MTA) can have significant export control considerations. Some industry partners may assume that universities have an approach to export control similar to theirs, which could exclude certain foreign persons or separate them from export controlled information or equipment.

Mississippi State's Office of Research Compliance and Security (ORCS) wants to help make sure that we as a university avoid the possibility of violations and follow the law.

This virtual seminar will teach participants about these clauses, including DFARS restrictions and fundamental research exemptions, and how they apply to research.
