About this event

Heather R. Jordan, an associate professor in MSU's Department of Biological Sciences, will be featured on a July 16 webinar presented by The Scientist and sponsored by Bio-Techne. The virtual event is 1:30-3 p.m. Central Standard Time (2:30-4 p.m. Eastern Standard Time).

Titled “A Little Help from my Friends: Lessons Learned from Microbiome Metagenomics,” the online event will discuss how metagenomic analyses of the human microbiome reveal novel functions of our constant companions, from genes for antibiotic resistance to cancer risk and susceptibility to treatment. These novel functions play an important role in human health and disease. Jordan will be joined by Jennifer Wargo of MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Topics covered will include autopsy sampling to uncover human resistome diversity and the role of the microbiome in cancer therapy.
