August 5, 2020
9:00 am to 10:30 am

About this event

Mississippi State's Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion and the Holmes Cultural Diversity Center, are hosting online workshops that will provide the university community with resources to address the impact of racism on individuals' physical and mental health and society as a whole.

OIDI, in conjunction with the Center for Student Activities, Department of Health Promotion and Wellness and Student Counseling Services, has partnered with mental health expert Dr. Ajita Robinson to host Racial Trauma workshops—one for faculty and staff and another for supervisors. Robinson is a licensed clinical professional counselor, board approved supervisor and national certified counselor with extensive training in grief and trauma.

The online session for supervisors will be held Aug. 5 from 9-10:30 a.m. This facilitated learning and dialogue workshop will address institutional and environmental factors that contribute to racial trauma students, faculty and staff may experience. Registrants will receive log-in instructions after online registration is complete.
