About this event

Emergencies can happen anytime—are you ready to grab and go? Do You Want to Build a Go-Bag? is a hands-on preparedness course that teaches Mississippi State University students, faculty and staff how to create a personalized emergency “go-bag” tailored for campus life, travel or home use.

Participants will learn:

  • What a go-bag is and why it’s essential
  • Core items to include for different scenarios (weather emergencies, evacuations, extended power outages, etc.)
  • How to adapt your go-bag for residence halls, offices or vehicles
  • Budget-friendly tips and resources to start building your kit
  • How to maintain and update your bag over time

This interactive session includes checklists, example kits and practical guidance to help you take the first steps toward emergency readiness—because being prepared is easier (and more fun) than you think!
