Drew Martin of Brandon and Baylee Lewis of Lena work on a sociology class assignment in Mitchell Memorial Library. Both rising seniors in high school, they are participating in the Rural Medical Scholars program. Martin attends East Rankin High School and Lewis attends Leake Academy, but the students are on campus for five weeks this summer to learn more about careers as family practice physicians, taking two pre-med courses and shadowing a doctor in a hospital or clinical setting.
