Retiring State Rep. Tyrone Ellis, D-Starkville, was one of the speakers who helped lead a peaceful Unity Vigil for Charlottesville in the MSU Junction area near Davis Wade Stadium on Wednesday [Aug. 16]. Approximately 300 people attended, including both Starkville residents and MSU students, faculty and staff. The event was organized to show support for the students, faculty and staff at the University of Virginia and for the people of Charlottesville. The vigil at MSU coincided with a similar event on the UVA campus Wednesday night.
