MSU Soccer Stuns South Carolina

MSU freshman Zakirah McGillivary, a psychology major from Brooklyn, New York, leaps into her teammate Niah Johnson's arms after scoring the game-winning goal in MSU's Thursday [Sept. 20] soccer match against South Carolina. In front of a record crowd of 1,402 fans, the Bulldogs beat the Gamecocks 2-1 in overtime, ending USC's 24-match unbeaten streak in SEC play. With the win, the Bulldogs are now 8-1 on the season and 1-1 in SEC play. They will travel to take on the Tennessee Volunteers at 2 p.m. Sunday [Sept. 23].
