Adam Collins, a research engineer at MSU's Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems Extension in Canton, runs a coordinate-measuring machine to check the dimensions of a metal version of the MSU logo. The machine uses a probe to touch the surface of a part at key points and collect measurement data which also can be used to check dimensional accuracy.
