More than 1,700 first-time MSU students are getting acclimated to life on campus through New Maroon Camp, which kicked off with opening ceremonies Sunday [Aug. 7] at the Joe Frank Sanderson Center. The week-long event introduces freshmen and transfer students to the university's history and traditions, while helping students get to know their peers and familiarize themselves with campus. New Maroon Camp has continued to grow in popularity since launching in 2014, with this year's event breaking the record for registered attendees.
