High school students from across the Magnolia State joined MSU faculty and staff in packing 10,000 meals in just 47 minutes last week during the eighth-annual World Food Prize Mississippi Youth Institute, hosted by MSU’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. The institute provides opportunities for these students—known as Borlaug Scholars—to research and suggest solutions for important state and global issues, including food security. Pictured are Karem Alboshaba, center, and Ravin McElvaine, right, both from Greenville Christian School, who joined 16 other student scholars in preparing food for non-profit Extra Table, while also setting a new event record.
