A mourning dove perches atop historic McCain Hall’s Tau Beta Pi monument at Mississippi State. Founded in 1885, Tau Beta Pi is the nation's oldest engineering honor society and the second-oldest collegiate honor society in the U.S. At MSU, the Mississippi Alpha chapter was established in 1928 and was the first in the state.
