STARKVILLE, Miss. -- In conjunction with Mississippi State's Career Center and athletics department, the College of Education's Learning Center recently hosted an etiquette luncheon for students in the life skills summer course.

Ryan Colvin, senior coordinator with the Career Center, presented proper techniques on three-course meal etiquette to more than 30 students and staff at the Templeton Athletic Academic Support Services Cafeteria.

Christa King, coordinator for The Learning Center, said the purpose of the event was to boost students' confidence for professional situations and prepare them for real-world work settings.

"The luncheon is a great preparatory tool for many of our students who will find themselves in professional settings throughout college and their careers," King added.

Clay Armstrong, interim director of The Learning Center, said he looks forward to seeing the center's work unfold through other special events designed to meet the needs of MSU students of all majors.

"The Learning Center prides itself on being a valuable resource for all students at MSU, and we're excited to continue expanding services and practical training courses," Armstrong said.
