Shackouls Honors College students present ‘Oedipus’ at MSU during Classical Week

STARKVILLE, Miss.—Mississippi State’s Judy and Bobby Shackouls Honors College is inviting university and community members to join its celebration of Greek, Roman and other ancient cultures.

“Oedipus,” a Greek tragedy by Sophocles, will be staged by honors students Tuesday and Wednesday [Sept. 25-26] at the Zacharias Village courtyard near Griffis Hall as part of the university’s observance of Classical Week.

The 6 p.m. programs are free to all and are a special MSU Lyceum Series presentation. In addition to blankets and chairs, patrons are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy during the performance.

The Shackouls Honors College provides an advanced curriculum to meet the scholastic needs of talented undergraduate majors in every academic department.
