MSU to hold ninth annual Cyber Security Awareness Week Oct. 14-19

Recognized nationally for its leadership in cyber security, Mississippi State is holding its ninth annual Cyber Security Awareness Week Oct. 14-19. Throughout the week, information security experts will provide students, faculty, staff and others with insight on online safety, information security issues and best practices.     

T-shirts will be given away at events while supplies last.

On Monday-Thursday [Oct. 14-17] from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m., MSU's Information Technology Services is hosting a Cyber Security Information Booth in the first-floor lobby at Allen Hall. 

Taking place in Colvard Student Union's Fowlkes Auditorium, other Cyber Security Awareness Week events include:

Wednesday [Oct. 16], 10:30-11:30 a.m., "Cyber Security Is Everyone's Job" presentation led by Lisa Vaughan, chief information officer for the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ)   

Thursday [Oct. 17], 2:30-3:30 p.m., "Key Campus Security Improvements" panel discussion/seminar sponsored by MSU's Office of Research and Economic Development
