MSU’s Department of Food Science, Nutrition and Health Promotion to celebrate National Public Health Week on social media

Mississippi State’s Department of Food Science, Nutrition and Health Promotion is observing National Public Health Week [April 6-12] through social media posts.

Due to COVID-19, the department is unable to host in-person events and instead will share graphics with statistics and tips about healthy housing, violence prevention and mental health. The images will be posted to the department’s Facebook and Twitter pages, as well as the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences’ Instagram.

For more than 25 years, the American Public Health Association has organized NPHW as a way to bring together communities across the U.S. to recognize the contributions of public health and highlight issues important to improving the nation’s health.

To celebrate while observing social distancing in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the APHA is hosting a series of online-only events, activities and conversations to engage organizations and communities across the nation.
