STARKVILLE, Miss.—Mississippi State offers a variety of educational and entertaining summer camps each year, but the university is announcing that all face-to-face or in-person camps—and conferences—will be canceled through August 1 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We do want to encourage, where possible and appropriate, that virtual options be considered for camp content,” said MSU Vice President for Student Affairs Regina Hyatt in an email to MSU camp organizers.

MSU is known for its variety of annual summer offerings, from camps that range from athletics to discovering career fields such as accounting or entomology to recreational and wildlife camps. Hyatt said information will be forthcoming as summer approaches about programs that have the opportunity to offer virtual camps.

MSU is Mississippi’s leading university, available online at msstate.edu.
