Dean of the College of Education Candidate One announced

Mississippi State University and the Search Committee for the Dean of the College of Education are pleased to announce the upcoming campus interviews and invite members of the college community to attend public presentations by each finalist.            

Candidate One: Dr. Michael T. Miller, Monday, February 1, at 10 a.m.

Dr. Michael T. Miller is a Professor and David and Jane Gearhart Faculty Fellow at the University of Arkansas College of Education and Health Professions. He has served as the Dean and Henry Hotz Endowed Chair from 2016-2019 and Senior Associate Dean from 2013-2016. He previously has served as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Department Head for Educational Leadership, Counseling, and Foundations. He also has held the roles of Associate Dean of San Jose State University’s College of Education and Chair of the University of Alabama College of Education’s Higher Education Administration Program, among others.

Dr. Miller completed his Ed.D. in postsecondary education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Teacher’s College. He has a master’s in higher education and a bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in journalism, both from Southern Illinois University.
