VICKSBURG, Miss.—Entrepreneurs and innovators from across Mississippi pitch their business ideas in the DAWG Tank Pitch Competition March 26 at the Mississippi Center for Innovation and Technology, or MCITy, in Vicksburg.

Hosted by Mississippi State at MCITy, the initiative brings together the university’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Outreach and the Office of Technology Management to support startup development, technology commercialization and partnerships that help move new ideas to market.

DAWG Tank allows early-stage entrepreneurs to present their ventures to a panel of judges, receive feedback from experienced business leaders and connect with resources that can help accelerate their businesses.

“DAWG Tank provides a platform for innovators to showcase their ideas and gain valuable feedback from experienced leaders in the startup ecosystem,” said Tasha Bibb, MSU OTM senior program manager for MSU@MCITy. “Events like this help strengthen Mississippi’s growing innovation economy by supporting entrepreneurs at critical early stages.”

As part of a broader partnership with Innovate Mississippi, which leads a statewide network of eight regional partners providing startup development assistance to innovators, DAWG Tank serves as a qualifying event for the organization’s CoBuilders Accelerator. The program offers funding, mentorship and structured support to promising startups while preparing founders to raise capital from investors.

“This year, we are particularly excited about including a High School track in addition to our Innovation and Main Street ideas. Engaging our students to not only think about but actually pursue starting their own business creates the pipeline now for tomorrow’s Mississippi companies, “said Trevor Acy, MSU E-Center senior program manager for MSU@MCITy.

Community members, students, investors, and supporters of entrepreneurship are encouraged to attend and support the participants March 26, 1-5 p.m., 1622 Washington St. Vicksburg.
