Maroon Alert Test and Fall Emergency Preparedness Training
Mississippi State University will conduct a campuswide test of the Maroon Alert emergency notification system Friday, Aug. 28, at noon.
The Meridian Campus will conduct an additional test at 1 p.m.
Maroon Alert is used to provide timely information and instructions during emergencies or situations that could affect university operations and campus safety. During the test, you may receive notifications through multiple methods. The alert may also display on the screen of your university computer – including machines used for class presentations.
When you receive the test alert, please follow the instructions in the message to acknowledge that you received it. Once you acknowledge the alert, the system will stop making additional attempts to reach you by other means such as email or phone.
The test is also a good opportunity to review how you would respond during an actual campus emergency.
