MSU Speaking Center celebrates 5th anniversary with speech contest

The Mississippi State Speaking Center invites students to take the stage, share their vision and compete for top honors in a speech contest celebrating its fifth anniversary.

The competition’s theme is “My Generation Will Make the World Better,” and students should discuss what drive, innovation or perspective their generation brings to the future and tell how they and their peers are shaped to transform tomorrow.

Speeches must be original and approximately five to seven minutes in length. Presentations will be judged on content, structure, dynamic delivery and creative alignment with the theme.

The competition is open to all currently enrolled MSU undergraduate students a features a $500 Prize awarded to the overall winner. Additional prizes will be awarded to runners-up.

The deadline for registration is Oct. 19, and the competition’s reception and final round will take place on Nov. 5.
