Mississippi Blood Services hosting campus blood drive Tuesday at MSU

Members of the MSU campus community are encouraged to roll up their sleeves and help save lives by participating in an upcoming blood drive.

Date: Tuesday, Sept. 15
Time: Noon-5 p.m.

Location: The Mississippi Blood Services Donor Coach will be set up in the soccer field parking lot next to the Hunter Henry Center.

***All successful donations will receive a free COVID-19 Antibody Test.***

The need for blood donors is always critical, but the need significantly increases during times of public health crises. According to Mississippi Blood Services, less than 4 percent of Mississippians donate blood on a regular basis. The organization, which supplies more than 200 units of much-needed blood products daily to hospitals across the state, is currently experiencing a severe shortage.

Mississippi State University is responding to this rising concern by asking faculty, staff and students to be heroes and give at the upcoming blood drive. Together, the MSU community can help boost the state's current supply and ensure patients in need have access to adequate treatment.

Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are encouraged.

Please spread the word and encourage fellow Bulldogs to join in this life-saving effort.
