MSU returns to normal operations Tuesday [Jan. 27]

STARKVILLE, Miss.—Mississippi State University will return to normal operations Tuesday [Jan. 27] and is asking students, faculty and staff to monitor weather conditions and exercise caution and good judgment in making travel and personal safety decisions.

MSU Extension and MAFES locations will follow unit leadership.

While much of North Mississippi continues to see major impacts from severe winter weather, students and employees unable to return to campus should communicate with their respective faculty members and supervisors. MSU leaders understand that those without power may have limited ability to communicate and will consider academic accommodation requests as deemed appropriate for individual circumstances.

MSU encourages all students, faculty and staff to monitor weather conditions and the media for changing weather information, as well as www.msstate.edu and official university social media for updates. Review instructions for coping with severe weather at emergency.msstate.edu, which also includes emergency guidelines, as well as preparedness tips, information about Maroon Alerts, and more.

Media inquiries should be directed to Vice President for Strategic Communications Sid Salter at 601-507-8004 or ss51@msstate.edu.
