‘Hot’ problem for barbers solved by MSU student start-up

When Mississippi State agricultural engineering alumnus Thomas White started cutting hair as a hobby, he came across a problem many barbers have dealt with for decades—his electric clippers kept getting uncomfortably hot.
Like most barbers, White started buying multiple pairs of clippers so he could keep cutting while the others cooled down. But conversations with one of his MSU classmates, Tyler Anthony, has led to the creation of a start-up company that is trying to make clippers in a better way.

MSU alumna, Thimblepress owner returns for Eric and Gina Yonge Lecture Series

In 2011, Mississippi State art/graphic design graduate Kristen Ley purchased a 1925 10 x 15 Chandler and Price letterpress and opened Thimblepress gift shop in Jackson. Today, her handmade, creative goods can be found at more than 900 retailers worldwide, and a recent partnership is set to bring a limited edition of her designs to Target stores.
