MSU hosting Nov. panel discussion on honors, awards strategies
Mississippi State is hosting Recognition Matters: Insights from MSU Award Recipients, a November panel discussion aimed at equipping participants for professional success whether they’re interested in pursuing formal recognition from honors and awards or through satisfaction in impactful academic careers.
Set for 3 p.m. Nov. 13 at Bost Theatre, a panel of award-winning faculty will discuss strategies for building meaningful impact, documenting accomplishments, navigating recognition opportunities and developing a strong professional record over time.
Sponsored by MSU Faculty Affairs, the director of faculty recognition and the Faculty Success Team, the event is open to all faculty, graduate students, department heads and deans interested in finding professional success in academia, including recognition of their work through university and external honors and awards.
Recognition Matters is an opportunity for MSU faculty to learn from colleagues whose work has earned university-level recognition. Guidance and information on achieving success and recognition in academia is important but sometimes challenging to find or discern; mentoring and input from those who found success—as measured by achievement of honorific awards—can provide insight and clarity. This event will provide an opportunity for faculty to receive guidance and form connections that will contribute to their success and satisfaction at MSU.
A light reception will follow the event to allow time for networking and informal discussion.
